It is with great sadness that we have to report that Dan Docherty passed away on 9th December 2021. His memory lives on through this website, his articles, videos, podcasts and in the hearts, minds and teaching of his many students and friends throughout the world.
If you are looking for a teacher in this style, then please visit “Where to Learn” “Instructor Listings” page as although this is not being kept up to date it will provide contact details for a number of his main students.
The PTCCI practitioners Facebook page is useful should you have questions.
Annual Competition
I've been running TCC competitions in 1989. The Taijiquan & Qigong Federation for Europe now runs an annual competition. This year it will be held in Oxford at the Leys Pool & Leisure Centre, Pegasus Road, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, OX4 6JL from 17-19 November. Entry forms and rules can be found on tcfe.org and taichiunion.com.
Entries must be received by Oct 24. Registration for foreign competitors will be at the venue on !7 Nov from 2pm- 8pm. Registration for UK competitors will be at 9am on Saturday Nov 18. There will be competition in 3 types of tuishou and numerous form events. The last TCFE competition was 1 year ago in St Petersburg and was highly successful. I look forward to seeing the raw emotion, panache and pure passion of the English, Scandinavians and Germans and the calm dedication and meticulous precision of the Celts and Latins, just to mention a few of the national stereotypes. As a confirmed Europhile it's always a pleasure to meet fellow practitioners from all over Europe.
